FEVER 333: Message & Music
For Project VI, I decided to focus on the band, FEVER 333. I explored their music and the message that they present to their listeners and to the public. FEVER 333 heavily focuses on topics relating to the Black Lives Matter movement, corruption within the justice system, equality, women's rights, trans rights, and police brutality. I wanted to dive into some of the band's songs to create a project that reflected the band and its overall goal/message.
During this project, I used the thinking skill synthesis. Synthesis occurs when you take multiple theories, ideas, thoughts and use them to create a new whole. This thinking skill is present in the products I created. I used synthesis to present to my audience the topics discussed in FEVER 333's discography and content.
I chose this topic to study for my project because I have been a fan of the band and Jason Aalon Butler (lead singer) for quite some time. But more importantly, I chose this topic because I feel as though the things discussed in this project are extremely relevant to present day events and issues. Overall, I learned many things about the band and the messages that they present.

Social Studies
For my Social Studies portion of my product, I used three songs by FEVER 333 to create a new song out of the lyrics in the three songs. The songs included: Made an America, SUPREMACY, and BURN IT.
I utilized synthesis in my product by using the lyrics from the three songs to combine the different aspects of each song to create a new whole. The song I came up with takes lyrics and their meanings from the other songs to form a new message. The three original songs discuss issues of racism, inequality, white supremacy, and injustice. My goal was to have those issues present in the song.
When I put together the song, I thought about what the meaning of the lyrics were in their original song. I feel that particularly the topics of police brutality, white supremacy, and injustice that the black community faces is the main focus of my song. I find that these specific topics are also one of the main focuses of the original songs I used the lyrics of. Both the originals and my product sends a message of the need to continue to fight for equality and justice.
These topics are extremely relevant in present time. Many people have lost their lives due to corruption in the justice system and systematic racism. You should urge yourself to become educated and speak up. Use your voice. Do what you can to strive towards a change, a change for the better. Remember the lives lost, remember their names.

Art
For my art product, I utilized synthesis by taking clips from concerts, music videos, documentaries, and interviews. The video clips are primarily featuring the band, FEVER 333. The clips I chose discuss topics of racism, systematic racism, injustice, equality, women's rights, tran's rights, white supremacy, and the BLM (Black Lives Matter) movement. Each video has a different message or way of expressing that message but put together, the videos create a whole that projects a theme of equality and the fight for justice.
The main component of the video I created is the music video with interview and concert clips injected within it. The clips are all from different sources. The first and third clip is from an interview and the second is from a concert. In the clips, Jason Aalon Butler (the lead singer), talks about different subjects regarding the purpose of their music and band, the fight for equality, and racism. These clips were added amongst the official lyric video for the song, Supremacy. The lyric video features many clips of live concerts, but also videos of protests and events that have occurred in the past and present, all of which pertain to the topics stated above. By putting these things together, I felt as though I was able to put these messages all together into something that worked together as a whole. I hoped to included the topics I found present in FEVER 333's discography.
In the outro of the video, I included a clip and audio as a remembrance for those who have passed away after being a victim of police brutality and systematic racism. The audio I used was from a protest that occurred after George Floyd's passing. We should always remember their names, who they were, and their impact on the world and the BLM movement.
