U.S. Visa Classifications for Performers
For Project III, I decided to focus on the different U.S. visa classification for performers. The visas I explored were the P-1B, P-2, and P-3 classifications. While working on my project, I was able to use the thinking skill of reasoning to build my products.
I chose this topic for my project because one of the things I enjoy doing the most is attending concerts and live music events. Through this project, I was able to understand what some of my favorite artists have to do to be able to perform on stage live at an event I am attending. I, also, chose this topic because I feel that this is very valuable information for those who want to pursue a career in the music industry, no matter their job title or position.

Social Studies & EnglishFor my product, I created a website that goes over the three visa classifications using a scenario involving a South Korean band named, JANNABI. Each page of the website takes the band through the process of understanding which visa classification they may need to go to an event called "KONTACT" in the U.S.
After reviewing the information about each classification, you will be able to determine which visa is the best fit for JANNABI. The band should get a P-1B visa because each member is apart of a band (JANNABI), which is a requirement for P-1B visa eligibility. JANNABI is a well-known band in South Korea and also in other parts of their world. JANNABI has a good reputation as a whole for making excellent music and having an amazing stage presence. Lastly, at least 75% of members have been in JANNABI for a least a year. JANNABI's circumstances match up with the eligibility criteria for the P-1B visa classification. |

Art
For Art, I did a sketch of the lead singer of JANNABI, Choi Junghoon. After many attempts at getting the details the way I wanted them and experimenting with different reference photos and media, I finally came up with a piece I was fond of. I used a 6B and 2B pencil to draw the portrait of Junghoon. After I was finished with the portrait with the pencil, I used a yellow colored pencil and lightly drew a background for the portrait. I decided to add a bright color to the background to help the drawing pop and stand out more. I chose the color yellow because the color appears quite frequently on JANNABI’s album covers and in their performances. I heavily relate the color to the band. The color yellow is actually used for the background of a portrait in JANNABI’s album “Legend.” I used the thinking skill of reasoning when choosing the color for my background as well as when choosing the other details of the piece.
To your right is the finished piece of Choi Junghoon, lead singer of JANNABI. Ultimately, I chose to draw Junghoon because of the scenario I used in my Carrd site. JANNABI was the band who was invited to KONTACT in the letter. I included other references of JANNABI throughout the site. I thought it would be appropriate to add a reference to them in other parts of my project as well, including my Art product.
